Spice trail to the Pearl of the Orient
The lamp for Temple of Fine Arts (TFA) was lit in 1981, when founder Swami Shantanand Saraswati, a hindu monk from India, established the sanctuary for Indian classical music and dance in Malaysia. Centres were created in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Malacca and Johor Bahru, besides overseas in Singapore, Coimbatore and Chennai in India, Perth in Australia and New Jersey in USA.
For decades now, the TFA has given Penang cultural enrichment and also great Indian vegetarian cuisine through Annalakshmi, its culinary arm. It is an exemplary institution for community service and spirit.
Participating in the George Town Festival for the first time, TFA has designed a Spice Trail to the Pearl of the Orient to showcase the culinary roots and heritage of various Indian states. TFA's members will also go all out to show Malaysians and visitors their classic community spirit.
