'Emily of Emerald Hill' by Stella Kon and 'The Coffin is Too Big for the Hole' by Kuo Pao Kun

("Deux Monologues Singapouriens"), translated and directed by Marc Goldberg, performed in French by Brigitte Damiens and Stephen Szekely
Description

For the first time ever, two Singapore plays have been translated and published in French, then staged as dramatized readings for the Singapore Festival in France. Groundbreaking Emilie d'Emerald Hill (Emily of Emerald Hill) by Stella Kon and Le Cercueil est trop grand pour la fosse (The Coffin is Too Big for the Hole) by Kuo Pao Kun will come back home during the Voilah Festival, for a unique opportunity to discover how these two revered monodramas inspire French artists. There will be a post performance talk about this project and the birth of Singapore theatre with the cast, as well as Stella Kon and Robert Yeo.
