Famed for their intricate pop dreamscapes and ‘that’ song from the iPod advert, Chairlift are a band who need little introduction. Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly will be visiting Japan to celebrate the release of their Japan-only 7” pressing of their track “I Belong in Your Arms” from the new LP, Something, which is being distributed by Big Love in Japan.

The EP was recorded over 18 months; between the back of an antique store in Brooklyn and the basement of a family home in Streatham, London. Something contrasts starkly with their first album; brimming with a dark brooding guilt and giving a passing nod to the driving, anthemic albums of the mid-90s.

You can catch Chairlift in Tokyo at an intimate live performance on October 10th at Under Deer Lounge in Shibuya. Having grown up in Tokyo, the show promises to be something of a home-coming for Caroline and they are sure to pull out all the stops for such an occasion.
