Topic: The changing talent landscape and what it means for you
The talent landscape as we know it is undergoing dramatic change. We are in fact witnessing structural shifts in the world of work. As an entrepreneur, how will this affect the way you leverage talent to drive business success? As a business leader, what does this mean in terms of how to attract, retain, and develop talent? And, as an individual, what are the implications on your career? Businesses and individuals alike need to understand and be prepared for what lies ahead. Su-Yen will challenge your thinking and share her insights.
Ms Wong Su-Yen is Chairman of Marsh & McLennan Companies in Singapore. She brings over twenty years’ experience helping companies develop business and organisation strategies, improve operations, manage risk, and effectively implement change.
A talented lady with immense expertise working with leading companies across North America and Asia in the high-tech, financial services, oil and gas, retail, and consumer goods industries, she also Chairs the board of Nera Telecommunications and serves on the Board of Directors of Mediacorp.

Special Segment: Dream Spotlight Speaker – Shahul (NUHS)
“In my younger days, I momentarily discovered my passion for tinkering with toys and everyday objects but was influenced towards a spoon-feeding academic culture so after doing a diploma in biotechnology I pursued a degree in molecular genetics. Splicing genes in a petri dish seemed like a fun and cool thing to do until I was given an opportunity to develop an e- learning project, something I had no formal training in. I self taught myself programming, at which point, I realise that it was more fun to gain skills and solve problems through opened experiential learning rather than with a confined formally structured course. I began to appreciate knowledge more than grades. I taught myself robotics and electronics, solving small real-world problems. Then came a tipping point in my life! I was awakened to the idea that knowledge was about solving problems for people and making a better world. At that point, my perception of life took a drastic turn and I saw the bigger picture. I decided to seek passion and purpose with my experiences rather than just earning from a job and living the usual life. Recently I discovered that design breathes life into my soul and currently I’m much alive, happily and actively engaging in 3d computer modelling and building small functional gadgets with real world applications. One day, in the near future, I hope to bring joy to people by improving their daily lives with simple but revolutionary gadgets!”
