TEDついて

TEDは“Ideas Worth Spreading”(広める価値のあるアイデア)の精神の基、活動を行っている非営利団体です。TEDは1984年、アメリカ・カリフォルニア州での4日間のカンファレスとしてスタートしました。

TEDはたくさんのアイデア発案者と共に世界を変えられるような考えを発案できるよう活動しています。年に1回行われるTEDカンファレンスは世界の卓越した思想家や実業家たちを招待し、18分のトークを披露します。

彼/彼女らのトークはTED.comで無料で視聴できます。TEDのスピーカーとして、Bill Gates (ビル・ゲイツ), Al Gore (アル・ゴア), Jane Goodall (ジェーン・グドール), Elizabeth Gilbert (エリザベス・ギルバート), Sir Richard Branson (リチャード・ブランソン卿), Nandan Nilekani (ナンダン・ニレカニ), Philippe Starck (フィリップ・スタルク), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (ンゴジオコンジョ-イウェアラ), Isabel Allende (イサベル・アジェンデ), UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown (イギリス総理大臣ゴードン・ブラウン)などがいます。

TEDxについて

「広める価値のあるアイデア」の精神に基づいたTEDxはTEDのような経験を共有するために行われる独自に組織された地域密着型のプログラムです。(x =「独自に組織された」という意味です。)TEDxでは、深い議論を引き起こし少人数のつながりを形成するため、TEDTalksのビデオ上映やローカルスピーカーによるのライブトークを行います。TED Conferenceでは、TEDxプログラムについての大まかなガイドラインを設けていますが、TEDxは独自で運営されています。

TEDxHGU(Hokkai Gakuen University)について

国内ではすでに東京大学や早稲田大学がTEDxのイベントを通じて大きな成功を収めてきました。また地域単位のコミュニティとしてTEDxTokyoやTEDxKyoto、TEDxSapporoなども活動をしています。

しかしながら、今まで道内においてはTEDxのイベントを行った大学はありません。私たち北海学園大学はTEDxによってもたらされる多くの感動や感激を、北海道を代表される皆様と共有させていただきたく、この度TEDxHGUとしてこの価値あるTEDxのイベントを開催させていただく運びとなりました。

グローバル化が加速する今日、北海道におけるインターナショナルな大学としてこのイベントを成功させる責務があると考えております。

あなたが持ってるアイディア、経験、感動をみんなに伝えよう！眠らせていた可能性、そして固定された観念から自分を解き放とう!自分自身を世界に解き放つことで、無限の可能性を生み出そう！

About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes.

Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

The annual TED Conference takes place in Long Beach, California, with simulcast in Palm Springs; TEDGlobal is held each year in Oxford, UK. TED’s media initiatives include TED.com, where new TEDTalks are posted daily, and the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as the ability for any TEDTalk to be translated by volunteers worldwide.

TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to organize local, independent TED-like events around the world; and the TEDFellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxHGU, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxHGU event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

TEDxHGU (Hokkai Gakuen University)

There have already been successful "TEDx" events at Tokyo University and Waseda University as well as a number of regional events such as "TEDxTokyo, TEDxKyoto, and TEDxSapporo.However, there has not been a "TEDx" event coordinated by a university within Hokkaido until now. Here at Hokkai Gakuen University, we are pleased to be a part of representing Hokkaido in hosting TEDxHGU and sharing the excitement and inspiration that comes with a "TEDx" event with everyone. In a world of increasing globalization, we believe that it is our duty as an international university in Hokkaido to make this event a success.
