Dmitri Matheny, flugelhornist and composer, was first introduced to jazz audiences in the 1990s as the protégé of Art Farmer and the San Francisco Chronicle says Matheny has matured into “one of the jazz world's most talented horn players.” After graduating from Tucson’s Canyon del Oro High School, he attended Berklee College of Music and, at 29, launched a busy recording career on the West Coast. After making his New York debut at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Dmitri began touring internationally. The soulful sound of Dmitri's horn draws frequent comparisons to Miles Davis, Chet Baker and―not surprisingly―to Art Farmer. Matheny's discography lists more than 60 CDs on which he appears as a composer, arranger, producer, annotator or flugelhorn soloist and he recorded nine critically-acclaimed albums as a leader.

He will perform with: Andrew Gross, saxophones; Charles McNeal, saxophones;Matt Rollings, piano;T-Bone Sistrunk, bass and John Lewis, drums.
