Musica Nuova and The Weckmann Project are pleased to present the Christmas Oratorio (Weihnachtshistorie) by Heinrich Schütz, in a rare dramatization of this Baroque masterwork.


Jeffrey Grossman of The Sebastians will lead an esteemed ensemble including Parthenia: A Consort of Viols in the historic Zion German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Heights. Under the stage direction of Walker Lewis, the singers of Musica Nuova will depict the Christmas story through staging and movement


After the performance children are invited to an instrument petting zoo where they can meet instruments such as the theorbo, cornetto, viola da gamba, and sackbut, the fabulously names early trombone.
