#GOInnovate is THE place to be on 10 – 12 October 2014 where awesome tech-minded people will gather and have a blast connecting and building what we hope will be the next great innovative idea. Organized by Astro Malaysia, #GOInnovate will be a chance to network with like-minded talented people, gather new insights on the game industry and most of all unleash your creative ideas with a chance to win cash prizes of over RM50,000!

Consumer media and entertainment is one of the most exciting and thriving space in the digital frontier today with new gadgets, apps, tools and services that constantly challenge the way we produce, consume and broadcast content today. How do you see this exciting space evolving in the next 5, 3 or even 1 year? Do you have a great idea that will redefine the way we Watch, Read, Listen and Play with content? If you do then #GOInnovate is the platform for you to turn that vision into reality.

The #GOInnovate Hackathon is a 48-hour hack event that encourages technology developers / innovators to showcase their ideas and talent in taking up the challenge to develop innovative solutions with the added benefit of being rewarded if you idea comes out on top.

What should you build?

We have 3 innovation challenges and we require you to choose one.

a) Product Challenge - .How can we create a platform or product that could redefine media consumption?

b) Technical Challenge - Zero touch authentication for Astro’s users or customers

c) Creative Challenge - User generated experience using Astro's assets

It can be app based or web based, we would let you define the platform.

Once you have registered to participate, we will provide you with a general brief of the challenges, one week prior to the event.

Who should participate?

If you are a Malaysian age 18 and above and do not mind cranking up your brain juice over the weekend, this hackathon is for you. From junior developer to start-up teams, you are all welcome. This would be a great place to pit your skills and share experience with like-minded talents.

How is it judged?

This is a presentation without any slide/deck. Teams will need to impress our panel of judges and mentors with their demo. You are given 5 minutes to showcase your work. Do allow for some time for Q&A at the end of your pitch.
