Returning for the fourth year running, HIBIKIYA promises to wow audiences with a dynamic display of traditional and modern Japanese taiko drum
pieces at our annual HIBIKI concert.
The brainchild of Ms Namiko Sakai, HIBIKIYA is an active member of the local performing arts scene and has performed internationally at events such as
the Cool Japan Festival in India. Our group also offers an array of workshops ranging from taiko to shamisen (Japanese three-stringed instrument) to shinobue (Japanese flute).
To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we welcome our special guest performers Mr Hiro Hayashida, Mr Bunta Sato and T.E.A.M. (Taiko Entertainment And Music) from Japan as well as homegrown ZingO Festival Drum Group at this year’s concert.

＊Mr Hiro Hayashida・林田ひろゆき：
An acclaimed musician and performer, Mr Hiro Hayashida was an ex-KODO member who has performed with notable artistes internationally in over 20 countries. He is also the founder of the “ZI-PANG” project which has produced more than 100 original pieces for over 30
taiko groups since 2000.
和太鼓奏者としてFIFAワールドカップ閉会式、ハノ ーバーEXPOに出演するなど、世界32ヶ国でワールドワイドに公演を 行っているパフォーマー。
元『鼓童』メンバー。 圧倒的なテクニックと、個性的で魂とエネルギー溢れる奏法を武器 とし、和太鼓アンサンブルを音楽的に作編曲・構成が出来る和太鼓 界唯一の奏者。演奏のみならず、作曲家・プロデューサーの顔を 持ち合わせ、特に“かつぎ桶太鼓”に於いては楽器開発も手掛けて いる。http://www.hiroyukihayashida.com/
Mr.Bunta Sato became one of the youngest winners of the Tozan Bayashi Shinobue Competition at the age of
18. An active promoter of the local “Neputa” festival and its music, he led the organizing committee which set the Guinness World Records for the largest flute
ensemble in Aomori Prefecture in 2011.
青森県平川市出身の笛奏者。弘前・津軽藩ねぷた村 職員でもある。３歳から祭り囃子（弘前ねぷた祭り）に親しみ、 ９歳から横笛を始める。
その後本格的に笛の道に進み、様々な コンテストで優勝・入賞暦を持つ。（18歳 お山参詣・第48回青森県 下登山囃子奉納本大会優勝）郷土芸能の第一線で伝承活動を行いな がら、新たな形も追求している笛奏者。http://sato-bunta.boo.jp/index.html
T.E.A.M. consists of a group of talented young taiko drummers who have been selected from all over Japan to form the “Super Taiko Junior” group.
Established in 2012, they have represented Japan at the 6th Festival Des Cultures Du Monde de Gémenos in France together with Mr Hiro Hayashida and Mr Bunta Sato in 2013.
林田ひろゆきが、全国で活動している 実力ある若手太鼓奏者を一堂に集めることにより、2012年 に創成された。2012年12月東日本大震災復興支援チャリティーコン サート「BEAT FOR JAPAN 2012」で初デビュー。2013年7月、南フラ ンスで行われた世界的イベント「6th festival des Cultures du Mondede Gemenos」に出演。http://www.hiroyukihayashida.com/japanese/stj/supertaikojunior.html
A prominent leader in the local Chinese drum scene, ZingO Festival Drum Group showcases a unique drumming repertoire
accompanied by martial arts-style choreography. They have taken part in popular celebrations such as the Esplanade Moonfest, Esplanade Huayi Festival and Nine Songs – SPH ZaoBao 90th Anniversary Mega Outdoor Concert.
