As a introduction of this symposium, we talk about “what is FabLab” for beginner Philippino Fabbers. the story include explanation about “What is desital fabrication” and “What is maker movement”. Through this story, audience will be able to understand why FabLab is called “New industrial revolution” and “2nd internet”.
And, we also introduce the challenge of the actual Philippino FabLab in Bohol that is first FabLab in the Philippines.
This introduction will be trigger to think about “Asia x Fab” through next “panel discussion” and “x Fab talk”.
2. Panel discussion (Discuss through a model cace for thinking Asian Fab)
FabLab in the Philippines is established to help and assist the creative sector inorder for them to provide jobs and employment opportunities that alleviate poverty. This is an attempt to have a meaningful collaboration of all sectors concerned to operationalize and sustain this FabLab initiative.
In the Philippines, FabLab was the first time attempt to establish for the purpose of solving poverty in Asia with the government budget. When we think about the Philippines FabLab that is as one of the Asian model case, and then we should mention about how to make the best use of Digital Fabrication and how to find a good future of way. Following these discussions, we can consider about asians approach.
