Building Border-Free Friendships in Afghanistan
Join us for a conversation with Dr Wee Teck Young (Hakim), a Singaporean physician who founded the Afghan Peace Volunteers and has spent the past 14 years in Afghanistan working on humanitarian initiatives. He is the 2012 recipient of the International Pfeffer Peace Prize.
How do we challenge ideologies that insist on drawing borders between people and privileging some lives over others? A group of young Afghans is creating alternatives to some of today's disturbing worldviews and violent practices. Come and hear their story.
Muhammad Ashik from Humanitarian Conversations will also be there to engage Dr Hakim in a thought-provoking discussion.
