If you are wondering what is data mining and had always want to learn R language but don't know how to start, this workshop is for you.


Aryn Choong will be giving an introduction to data mining then followed by a R workshop session.

Note: Please ensure that you install R Studio prior.

Speaker Profile

Aryn Choong is a software engineering team lead at Verifone, a credit card terminal company. She is actively involved in open data project DataKindSG - a community that bringing together data scientists and nonprofits to tackle challenges in Singapore and beyond.


One of the interesting project Aryn involved is mining weather and health data from open data sources to find the causes of rise and fall of mosquito-related diseases like malaria and dengue in the South East Asian nations.


Aryn is also a Women Who Code Director for Singapore chapter. She is studying part-time for her Masters Degree in Technology - Knowledge Engineering at National University of Singapore(NUS).


If you have any questions on Agile and C, you may ask her too. She is a qualified scrum master and an expert in C language.
