The Community of Practice (CoP) for Business Leaders, organised by Align Group and supported by Singapore Business Federation (SBF), explores various themes related to people management. It provides key insights and learnings for business leaders to leverage on HR to achieve organisational goals, consistent with the modern role of HR as a key business partner.
Theme: Towards Singapore Quality Class (with People)
With the fast-changing business landscape and global trends, it is never more timely for organisations to strengthen their business fundamentals so to better keep pace with the changes and seize new market opportunities.
SPRING Singapore (Ms. Sue Tai and Ms. Manorama Singh from Business Excellence Division) will be present to share how SMEs can work towards achieving Singapore Quality Class, an emblem of quality and distinction, which would set the foundation for growth.
Low Boon Seong - Managing Director, Align Group
Boon Seong is a HR practitioner with over 15 years of experience implementing people and change management programme. He was conferred the Singapore Economic Review Book Prize 2003 and SIA CEO Award 2008 (during employment), and has been featured in Channel NewsAsia, International Well-Being Symposium, and many HR conferences for SMEs in the region. He founded Align Group in year 2012, with Align Group now a recognised thought leader in the HR space. He is also the brain behind Singapore’s National Workplace Happiness Survey
Sue Tai - Head, Business & Service Excellence Division, SPRING Singapore
Prior to joining SPRING Singapore, Sue has many years of experience dealing with Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) namely fashion apparel, sporting & equipment and luxury goods. Her vast management experience covers merchandising, marketing and general management of brands, chain stores.
Alvin Chee - Director and CEO of ALPlay Service Factory Pte Ltd
Alvin assists clients with designing their customer experience, conducting customer research, designing customer service systems and training. He is also a Practising Management Consultant (PMC), and ACTA certified Trainer. He has assisted clients by strategizing their expansion plans, protecting their intellectual property, developing their franchise systems, marketing their franchise offerings, and constructing their financial projections. In doing so, he works closely with the clients to go through many aspects of their businesses, such as planning, finance, admin, HR, PR & marketing, customer service and IT services. He is able to bring successful “best practices” from his experience with the private sector.
Mervyn Goh - Principal Partner and Head, Private Clients, Avallis Financial
Mervyn has over 28 years of experience in the financial services sector. Deeply respected for his in-depth industry knowledge and expertise, Mervyn specialises in private wealth solutions for local and international high net-worth individuals and corporations.As Head of Private Clients, Mervyn is chiefly responsible for the development of Avallis Financial’s international offshore insurance business which serves the needs of global cross-border clients. Mervyn also oversees and leads advisory services on matters related to business continuity planning for the high net worth clients of Avallis Financial.
