Cities & Kings Curator Tour - 3 March, 7.30pm
Join exhibition curator Conan Cheong on this last Curator Tour to get exclusive insights and behind-the-scenes perspectives on the artistic traditions of Myanmar, from its ancient cities to the kings that built them.
Hear stories about the fascinating objects selected from National Museum collections in Myanmar, connecting art, architecture, religion, and history across three significant periods in the country’s past.
This Curator Tour includes entry to the special exhibition, Cities & Kings: Ancient Treasures from Myanmar, on until 5 March 2017.
Assistant Curator, Cross-Cultural Art
Conan has a BA in Art History and Anthropology from Wesleyan University (USA). His thesis was on contemporary Tibetan Buddhist metalworking practices. Before joining the Asian Civilisations Museum in 2013, he was curatorial assistant for the National Gallery Singapore, and for the Mansfield Freeman Centre for East Asian studies in Middletown, Connecticut.
