Join exhibition curator Stephen Murphy to get exclusive insights and behind-the-scenes perspectives on the artistic traditions of Myanmar, from its ancient cities to the kings that built them.
Hear stories about the fascinating objects selected from National Museum collections in Myanmar, connecting art, architecture, religion, and history across three significant periods in the country’s past.
This Curator Tour includes entry to the special exhibition, Cities & Kings: Ancient Treasures from Myanmar.
Curator, Southeast Asia
Stephen holds a PhD from the Department of History of Art and Archaeology, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and specialises in the art and archaeology of early Buddhism in Southeast Asia. He is co-editor of Before Siam: Essays in Art and Archaeology(2014), and regularly contributes papers to leading academic journals.
