Awarded sommelier Daisuke Kawai will have a Japanese Wine Class!

As part of SJ50 celebration and the "Itadakimasu" project by Spoonful (Alchemist Pte Ltd) that aims at introducing both Singaporean and Japanese culinary culture to each other, join us to learn about the new trend and truth of Japanese Wine knowledge from sommlier Daisuke Kawain. There will be a special guest speaker, Weiwen Lin, a wine and food journalist, he will talk to us about the latest news and hidden story of Japanese wine from his recent 2 months wine journey in Japan.

About Daisuke Kawai

Kawai has over 20 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry, specialising in wines, sake and whisky. His career has been awarded many times by international Agencies such as Japan Sommelier Association, Academy of Wines of Portugal or Society of Wine Educators, only to name the few. However, his life-long dedication was crowned though by the Singapore World Gourmet Series Awards of ExcellenceBest Sommelier of the Year 2013.

About Weiwen Lin

With 10 years of experience on the food and wine beat, Weiwen has built an enriching career that includes reviewing the latest restaurants, picking the brains of Michelin-starred chefs and top winemakers, and exploring high altitude wineries in Argentina, to name a few. In 2013, while writing for Epicure magazine, he picked up the Food Writer of the Year award at the World Gourmet Series Awards of Excellence.
