About the Institution
In 1949, SIFAS was founded by a group of like-minded individuals including KPA Menon, SN Dorai and RVSubban. It had its beginnings as a group that organised performances of Indian classical arts in Singapore. In 1993, SIFAS moved to the building of the former Rangoon Road Primary school on Starlight Road. Today it is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the teaching and promotion of Indian culture through the arts.
