About the Institution

Founded in 1952 by accomplished classical dancer Mr KP Bhaskar, Bhaskar’s Arts Academy is one of the oldest schools of Indian performing arts in Singapore. In its 64-year history, Bhaskar's Arts Academy has become one of the foremost dance and performing art companies in Singapore. The Academy has its own Kathakali troupe, which has put up successful performances of not only the traditional themes of Kathakali in Malayalam, but has also staged dance-dramas in Malay and Mandarin, and have performed locally and internationally.
