Welcome to TEDxNormal 2016! We had an amazing event last year, and are very excited you decided to join us again this year.


There is the normal way most people think about and interact with life. Then there is the way instigators, disruptors, troublemakers, and change agents do it. Those are the big ideas and stories we highlight. We want to start conversations about new approaches to life’s opportunities and challenges. More importantly, we want to ignite small changes that have huge ripple effects.


Don’t be normal.


Don’t act normal.


Don’t think normal.


We challenge you to do something different today. Break your routine. Give when you would normally take. Pause when you would normally rush.


We will have three sessions during the day and a VIP reception to follow.

VIP Reception:

Please join us for a VIP reception at the Castle Lofts (6th Floor) from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Take the opportunity to mingle with the speakers, relax and enjoy complimentary beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, and delicious hors d'oeuvres by Epiphany Farms. Tickets are required for this reception, and the number of tickets is extremely limited.


You must have a printed ticket to gain access to the event and reception. To gain access to the event, sign into your Peatix account and print your ticket which can be found under the 'My Tickets' tab of your dashboard. We are not accepting tickets on your phone - please print a paper ticket!


Parking

There are many parking options near the Normal Theater. We recommend utilizing one of the parking decks in the area for the event - find more information and exact locations here.

For the VIP reception, there is parking directly across from the Castle Theatre. Additional parking can be found at the Bloomington Law and Justice Garage just 1 block south of the Theatre. Additional lots can be found 1 block North and 1 block East of the Theatre


Event Outline

Our day will be split into three sessions, with 5-6 speakers in each, grouped around similar broad themes, per below:

2:00 - 4:00 Session III: Exploring the New World
