$180/pax @ Entire 4 hour workshop, material, firing, tea and refreshments. (excluding hands-on wheel practice but you can watch and observe by the side)

In this workshop Janet DeBoos will demonstrate and guide you through hands-on participation to produce wheel-thrown manipulated forms, decorating with slip and glazes that she uses in her own professional art practice.

You will produce your own pot and decoate it with the techniques taught, learn about line-blend glaze tests which you can take to progress in the future. This will be 4 hour instructional workshop with a 30 minute artist talk where she will share her professional ceramics career that spans over 50 years.

Janet DeBoos is one of the world's most respected ceramicists, with a career spanning five decades and hundreds of exhibitions. DeBoos, who sits on the board of International Academy of Ceramics (Geneva), and is Emeritus fellow at the Australian National University was previously professor and Head of Ceramics at the School of Art. DeBoos exhibits regularly internationally and is represented in many major permanent public collections in museums in Australia, UK, Canada, China, Taiwan, Belgium, and New Zealand. She has written two best selling books on glazes, and has written numerous articles for international ceramics journals on ceramic art practice, education and glaze technology.
