Smart Nation: Opportunities for Startups
Led by Smart Nation Project Office (SNPO), and with great support of agencies like iDA, NRF, IIPL, Singapore is leading the Smart Nation vision in the region. IoT is an ecosystem where organizations will collaborate towards building great solutions for the betterments of the life of citizens. IoT address a number of challenges, and hence open the opportunities for not only the large organizations but also for the startups and SMEs.
IoTSG & AIRMaker have put together a Panel Discussion on Smart Nation. The leaders will discuss the approach of IoT towards Smart Nation applications, and share their views from business, technology and investment perspective
Aylwin Tan is Chief Customer Solutions Office at Ascendas Singbride. He oversees group-wide customer acquisition, customer growth, investment promotions/industry development strategy for cities/countries, industry positioning for our products, supports investment decisions for new projects, new customer engagement/growth initiatives.
Joanna Reijgersberg-Siew is Architecture Manager- Data & IoT, at Philips Lighting. She is responsible for all digital propositions and projects beyond illumination, particularly in the area of big data, apps and IoT.
Teik Guan was the CEO and CTO of Data Security Systems Solutions Pte Ltd (DS3) before it was successfully acquired by Gemalto at the end of 2012. During his time in DS3, he was involved in a number of Smart Nation projects including National Authentication Framework for Singapore (Singpass). He is currently a mentor-in-residence in IIPL and works closely with start-ups on a daily basis, providing advice and guidance to groom them into successful businesses.
Heng Soon has been General Manager of Infocomm Investments Pte Ltd (IIPL) since 2008. He is critical in IIPL’s investment-led efforts that target promising ICT companies as well as supporting the development of Singapore’s start-up ecosystem. Prior to joining IIPL, Heng Soon was active in business development in the area of semiconductor manufacturing. He also spent a number of years in venture investment in Singapore and United States.
