Meet The VC is The Hub Singapore's exclusive fireside chats series with leading VCs (Venture Capitalists), where they share their tools and insights into the local fundraising scene to get you ready for (more) investment. From seed to growth stage investing, we have got you covered with our monthly Meet The VCs series!

In our next session in our Meet The VCs series, we are going to answer any question a startup has about raising Series A investment.

Vinnie Lauria is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He is a Managing Partner at Golden Gate Ventures, and a fellow of the Kauffman Fellows Program. Additionally, he is an active mentor and advisor to startups around the globe through organizations such as the Founder’s Institute. He is a mentor and guest lecturer at the National University of Singapore.


Prior to setting up Golden Gate Ventures in Singapore, Vinnie built two startups in Silicon Valley: Meetro.com, a location-based chat service which was dissolved with many lessons learned in 2007; and Lefora.com, a hosted forum service which grew to over 100,000+ communities and was acquired by CrowdGather in 2010. In 2006, Vinnie founded the Silicon Valley NewTech Meetup, which has featured over 300 startups to a monthly audience with thousands of followers.


Vinnie has been published in 3 books out of Silicon Valley, and covered in the New York Times, BBC, CNBC, Telegraph, San Francisco Chronicle, Business Week, Fast Company, Channel News Asia, Venture Beat, TechCrunch, and The Huffington Post. He’s spoken at a number of conferences around the globe, including: O’Reilly’s Emerging Tech Conf, DEMO, Echelon, ArabNet, TechVenture, FailCon, Private Equity Asia Forum, and NUS Innovfest. In 2013, Vinnie was chosen from a pool of over 2,500 Founders Institute’ mentors as the highest rated startup mentor in Asia.


Prior to his time in San Francisco, Vinnie spent four years within IBM, helping to shape how IBM was approaching social software for the enterprise. Vinnie is passionate about the startup and entrepreneurial lifestyle. He joined his first startup while still in high school. His latest activities can be followed here: @vlauria.
