LadyBoss X DBS BusinessClass Networking & Panel Discussion: "Marketing Your Business To Women"

(Includes 2 free drinks and canapes)

LadyBoss is back with our next networking session! Our last event attracted over 100 people and was SOLD OUT, so register early to avoid disappointment!

This time, we will explore a key business topic – ‘Marketing Your Business to Women'. We will be learning about how to connect with customers and a female audience from the women behind Material World, Vaniday and TechLadies.

Deborah Tan, Co-founder of Material World

(second from left)

A Political Science & English Language graduate from the National University of Singapore, Deborah Tan started her career as an intern at CLEO before getting hired for a full-time position by the magazine.

After 12 years in publishing, Deborah, along with three teammates at the now-defunct Cosmopolitan Singapore, decided to enter the tumultuous world of entrepreneurship by setting up Material World - a content and communications agency. Seeing a need for freelance writers with tested editorial experience, Material World's edge lies in its swift and professional content delivery to both corporate and publishing clients.

She is passionate about "standing up for the rights of creative freelancers" and has written several articles about the topic on her LinkedIn profile.

Marine Perez de Germay , Co-Founder, Vaniday Singapore

Marine is the Co-Founder of Vaniday Singapore, an online platform and app to find and book your beauty treatments instantly. Vaniday is part of Rocket Internet, a global venture builder headquartered in Berlin.

A French native who grew up in Mauritius, Marine completed her Masters in Logistics and Distribution in France, as well as an immersion stint in China. She has been living in Singapore for 3 years, first as BD for IMS Health Asia Pacific, before joining Vaniday in building its Singapore operations.

Starting a tech company from scratch is no mean feat, and Marine is true testament to that. Today, Vaniday Singapore has more than 900 featured salons islandwide, all these within a span of six months.

It is also one of the fastest growing venture amongst the 5 countries and 4 continents that the beauty platform operates in.

Elisha Tan, Founder, TechLadies

Elisha Tan believes that technology is meant to be accessible by all. This is why she created TechLadies, a community-led initiative that introduces women to programming.

TechLadies runs a 10-week part-time coding bootcamp, TechLadies Bootcamp, where women learn how to code by creating products for non-profit organizations under the guidance of volunteer coaches. The inaugural batch of the TechLadies Bootcamp saw 129 applicants vying for 9 vacancies in the program.

During the day, Elisha works at Facebook in Singapore. She previously founded Learnemy - an online marketplace for in-person classes, and picked up programming to build the product. Elisha was a mentor at Startup Weekend San Francisco and Penang.
