Tinkering Sunday: Make a Microscope
Make a Microscope with Artist Din Chan
Sunday, 28 August 2016
10:30am to 12:30pm
$32 per adult/child pair
For ages 5 to 12
Taking place on the last Sunday of every month, Tinkering Sunday sessions are suitable for parents and children (from the age of 5 to 12) to do together. The activities are open-ended but within a theme, and carefully curated materials and tools are available. The aim of these facilitated sessions is to try out things, explore, experiment and create. Most of the time, you will not go home with a product but with a set of experiences.
About Make a Microscope: What can you do with a disposable camera? Children and their parents will have a go at dismantling cameras and creating their very own portable microscope! There will be plenty of recycled lenses and materials for to take apart and experiment with, and if time, opportunities to test the portable microscopes on the ground to view insects in the wild. Come with an open mind and closed shoes!
Side Note: Kindly note that you will need to purchase an admission ticket if you wish to stay at the Children’s Centre for Creativity after 1pm. Please note that tickets once purchased may not be refunded. However, it may be transferred to other programmes of the same value, subject to availability. Tickets may be transferred or reimbursed in full if the workshop is cancelled or postponed by Playeum.
