IDA Tech Saturday - IET Faraday Challenge
What is IET Faraday?
The IET Faraday programme has been developed by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Europe’s largest professional organisation in the field. Our aim is to introduce a new generation to the sheer excitement of science, technology and engineering.
Discover how engineers influence our world…
The IET Faraday materials give a real insight into what it’s like to be a scientist, technologist or engineer working at the cutting edge of technology. You’ll find out about the problems that engineers face and the technologies behind their solutions.
You can check out an introduction video here.
We will be organising participants into 6 groups of 6 students each and teach them how to make use of engineering principles to solve an interesting problem. This time round we will be going on a misson to mars. Your child will learn how to work together as a team and build a rocket and transporter. Each team will be given virtual currencies to buy materials to build their rocket and transporter.
All participants will receive a special certificate of participations and the winning team will receive a certificate of achievement and prized.
Tickets are only required for children. Parents DO NOT need any tickets. Parents who would like to leave their children with us will have to sign an indemity form. Parents can also stay behind to watch at the sidelines.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided for the children and parents.
