Speaker's Profile


LAI CHEE HOE, Founding Partner at Chee Hoe & Associates and CEO and Founder of BurgieLaw.

Started practising in 2005 and continues to be in active legal practice. He is a qualified lawyer and Chartered company secretary. He was also awarded with a fellowship for arbitrator (FCIArb) and is a certified adjudicator within the panel of Kuala Lumpur Regional Arbitration Centre (“KLRCA”).

He specialises in litigation and corporate matters. His portfolio ranges from cases involving corporate fights, company disputes, breach of contracts and arbitration. He acts for public listed companies, private limited companies and also small medium enterprises.

He appears in courts regularly and was also the Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Young Lawyers Committee. He also appears occasionally in tv and radio stations.



JIN TAN, Principal Partner at TinkBig Venture

Jin Tan who had co-founded Appshack which had successfully sold off and with his experience in the venture of overseen the creation of a handful of startup & fund raising activities. Jin now it's the Principal Partner at TinkBig Ventures, a venture capital fund in Asia.

In the early years, Jin has been Head of IT in several MNC companies and a Corporate Financial Executive at a USA listed venture. With the love of technology, Jin had also founded MyBrandApp which a company that offer one of the unique mobile innovative solution in the market. With the specialize experience on Mobile App, Mobile Marketing & Mobile Branding, new ventures added into Jin portfolio as he also serves as the CEO of international mobile app brand of iSmartPhoto & OnGraph Technologies in Malaysia. Yet managing several technology projects at this leadership, he manage to won several business entrepreneur excellent awards in the fast moving technology industry trend that make him unique as his kind.


ANDREW TAN, Venture Partner at TinkBig Venture

Andrew is a serial entrepreneur and the founding partner in TinkBig Venture where he is venture partner of the firm’s investment and management team.

Prior to TinkBig , Andrew was chief business development officer and a financial-services investor at Appshack Asia. While at Appshack, he led investments in seven startup deals with other co VC. Prior to that, Andrew was a private-equity investor where he regularly advised his limited Partners on private-equity deals and fund formation. Before that he successfully listed his company at the MESDAQ Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur Securities Exchange where he learned the intricacies of the stock market.

Andrew received his Master in Ecommerce from Queen Mary University London. Andrew has been featured various publication and newspapers as an outstanding entrepreneur. His previous experience include EBay UK, TESCO, MAVCAP and CGC Malaysia.


LEE SHIH, Dispute Resolution Partner at Skrine

Lee Shih is a Dispute Resolution Partner at Skrine. His litigation work focuses on corporate disputes, corporate insolvency and arbitration. He regularly acts in cross-border disputes. He speaks and writes regularly on company law. He is a Council member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Malaysia.


FOONG CHENG LEONG, IT & Intellectual Property Lawyer at Foong Cheng Leong & Co

Foong Cheng Leong is an IT & Intellectual Property lawyer. He is the Chairman of the KL Bar Information Technology Committee and the co Chairman of the Bar Council Cyberlaw and Information Technology Committee. He is also the author of the book, Compendium of Malaysian Intellectual Property Cases.


ALBERT WONG, Group CEO ICONZ-Webvisions Sdn Bhd

Albert Wong helms ICONZ-Webvisions as Group CEO with the responsibility to lead the organization to greater success and growth by driving business strategies across the group’s network of operations in Asia Pacific.

A highly respected leader in the region who is also known for his strong business acumen, Albert brings more than 20 years of corporate experience to his new role. He spent 17 years with Motorola where he assumed numerous regional responsibilities that included marketing, sales and business development. Prior to his current appointment, he was General Manager of Motorola Enterprise Mobility Group where he played an instrumental role in the growth of the business across Asia Pacific.

Albert holds an MBA from Aalto University, Finland.


CHERILYN TAN, Co-founder and CEO of AsiaLawNetwork.com

Cherilyn ran and turned around a loss-making creative agency to achieve profitability and win multiple awards before starting ALN to change the way people find legal help in Asia. Her passion for technology and how it impacts lives in Asia started with her Design Thinking experience in SMU and Stanford University.


RICHARD WEE, Partner at Messrs Richard Wee & Yip (Corporate Litigation & Sports Law Lawyer)

Richard Wee is a partner at Messrs Richard Wee & Yip. He is the Deputy President of the pro-tem committee of the newly formed Sports Law Association of Malaysia. Richard is a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and also a member of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA).


YINGYU WANG, Director of Via Law Corporation

The only female named by The Legal 500 AP as a leading individual for Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Law and recommended for Intellectual Property (IP) Law in 2016. Her clients range from tech start-ups to multi-national corporations. She advises both domestic and cross-border transactions, and is also currently advising a leading community-centric media network enterprise in its latest round of funding.


PHILIP LEONG, Business Development Analyst at Crowdo

Philip Leong is the Business Development Analyst of Crowdo, a Fintech Startup offering a full portfolio of Equity Crowdfunding and P2P Lending solutions. Crowdo is one of SE. Asia largest and longest running Crowdfunding operators with close to 20,000 members with offices in Jakarta, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. In mid-2015, Crowdo became one of the first companies in the region to be licensed by a regulator (Securities Commission Malaysia) to offer Equity Crowdfunding, and launched its ECF platform in beginning 2016. MARK PUI, Executive Director of Corporate Finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)

Mark presently advises on M&As (buyside & sellside), JVs, public & private capital-raising exercises. He previously specialised in strategic & operational consulting prior to the corporate finance track of his career. In addition to his corporate finance role, Mark is also a founding member of PwC's Entrepreneurial & Private Clients practice (which focuses on family-owned businesses) and PwC' Accelerator practice (which focuses on helping high-growth businesses bridge international markets).
