Entrepreneur Spotlight is a session that highlights women entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs that focuses on women related products and services. A cosy session where invited entrepreneurs share insights on their business journey. Our special guests for this session hail from the land Down Under!

Jamila Houchar

Jamila was a stay at home mum, with children, housework duties and no real career. From her busy kitchen, she one day decided to start making chocolate dipped strawberries for friends and family. After resoundingly positive feedback, she founded Strawberries and Co. with no capital and nothing but her talents for decoration and design. After popularising the famous 'Strawberry Tower', her business went viral on Social Media and over the years has grown to quite an enormous presence, with over 92,000 IG Fans. She now makes hundreds of couture strawberry towers per month and has massive international clients including Givenchy, Mimco and Terry Biviano.

Tarik Houchar

At only 21 years of age, Tarik Houchar founded Hijab House in 2010, when his younger sister decided to put on the Hijab. At a time when Hijab fashion was barely a thing, he saw the need for younger, fresher designs and pioneered a new retail concept for youthful modest wear. He was among the first people to open up a Hijab store in a major Western shopping mall, with the first Hijab House opening in Sydney's Bansktown Centro. A year later, he opened his second store and set up the Hijab House website, selling to muslim women all over the world. Hijab House has had particular success on social media, with over 163,000 IG fans and massive clients from Swarovski, to Vogue and Air Asia.
