Making its debut this year, the Innovation by Design Conference is the signature event of Singapore Design Week 2016, organised by the DesignSingapore Council. The conference is a key platform for prominent international and local business leaders and designers to share their experiences and insights on how design influences the innovation process and the impact it has on business success. Through the stories of each speaker, the conference hopes to inspire and spark new conversations between business leaders and designers.


The conference is open to participants from businesses, the design and creative community, start-ups and students. Please register to attend.


Ticketing Details:

- This is a free event that requires online registration.

- Registration will begin at 8:30am at the Drama Centre (Foyer).
- Attendees are allowed ONE (1) ticket for ONE (1) track (choice of either Design or Innovation track) per day.

Keynote Speakers:

Mr Masaaki Kanai (15 March Tuesday, Keynote Speaker - Day 1)

Chairman & Representative Director of Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. – the parent company of Japanese retail giant MUJI, well-known globally for its distinctive minimalism design and high quality.

Mr Jaime Hayon (16 March Wednesday, Keynote Speaker - Day 2)

Award-winning industrial designer from Spain, who has been named by Time Magazine as “one of the 100 most relevant creators of these times”.

This year’s conference will also feature our home-grown design talents and business leaders. We have 2 parallel tracks – the “Design” Track (Theatre) which will feature our award-winning Singapore designers and the “Innovation” Track (Visitor Centre) which will feature local business leaders of successful design-led businesses.
