The sensory experience affects the way we react to spaces and objects. Three designers, Wang Hsinchun, Daisuke Kitagawa and Terry Jacobson from different types of design practices give us some insight into how senses translate into valuable information in their design journey.

Taiwanese product designer Wang Hsinchun enjoys experiencing different cultures. His interests lie in contemporary art and logical thinking. Having studied art and design in the US, he later co-founded HCWD Studio in New York with his wife Ye Liu.

Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art, Daisuke Kitagawa started out as a designer for a major Japanese household electronics manufacturer and later founded DESIGN FOR INDUSTRY. Known for producing high-quality work with attention to detail, Daisuke will share ideas on bringing out the best from materials and products.

Terry Jacobson, a self-styled Olfactory Evangelist, is Singapore’s pre-eminent designer of ambient fragrance experiences for brands, hotels and retailers. He describes his work as a ‘’romantic journey of inner space.”
