Banjo (Bluegrass): Beginner Group Class

Description

Tuesday, 5:30-6:20pm // February 1 - April 22 (12-week term)

This course serves as an introduction to the bluegrass banjo style, as made famous by Earl Scruggs.

We will talk about basic technique for both hands, and we will work through the basic right-hand patterns, or ‘rolls,’ that are the building blocks of the style.

Students will work through tunes from the quintessential bluegrass repertoire, and will become fluent in the different roles of the banjo, both as a soloist and playing backup.
