Fashion Sewing 201 (3 sessions)

3 x 3hrs workshop for total of 9 hours + 1hr optional studio time

It's time to move forward from your learn to sew 100 classes!


Our Fashion Sewing Series is designed for the beginning sewist who is ready to apply their new skills and techniques to making garments. It can also be a refresher class for basic techniques!


This simple top is a great lesson in reading & using custom or commercial patterns!

We'll cover creating a blouse that’s easy to match with a variety of bottoms & versatile from day-to-night. In this 3 session workshop chock full of tricks-of-the-trade, you will also get to use a domestic serger to overlock edges, plus how to create drawstring details + placket & simple bias-binding for a touch of luxe!


If you’ve done some sewing but want to learn professional techniques, you are ready for FS 201. If you’ve never or barely touched a machine, click here for the FS 101 classes.

Individual & group workshops are available to book on request, please enquire. We also offer workshops not listed & can tailor them to suit your needs.


What You’ll Learn

  • Use the tools necessary for sewing.

  • Basic understanding of reading patterns & applying their uses.

  • Pattern laying & cutting

  • Handling & usage of domestic overlock machine

  • Clean-finishing fabric edges.

  • Neckline finishes with self-cut bias-binding

  • Use loop turner to make drawstrings from bias strips into tubes

  • How to stabilize fabric and create buttonholes with the machine


All sewing tools and domestic sewing machines provided. Fabric not included. Non-stretch cotton fabrics recommended. Please get in touch for any clarifications.


Classes start on time, please arrive early if possible!
