About Material Wrld
Material Wrld is a luxury fashion trade-in service that offers a seamless experience for women to refresh their designer items by trading in clothing, handbags, and shoes for funds toward their new favorite pieces. Based in New York, the company was founded in 2012 by Rie Yano and Jie Zheng, two friends who set out to help women feel confident about their wardrobe by providing a smarter way to shop. Material Wrld was built on the belief that the process of refreshing your closet should be fun and easy so your personal style can evolve right alongside your lifestyle. How it works is simple: Material Wrld makes an upfront offer on items and then manages all aspects of the selling or donation, cutting out the unwieldy experience of standard resale marketplaces and consignment stores. With Material Wrld’s Fashion Trade-In Card powered by Discover, accepted offers are automatically added to customers’ accounts which can then be used to shop new fashion at 700+ online and in-store locations nationwide.
