'I would recommend this workshop to friends and family - particularly those who are interested in Japanese culture and those who are looking to try something new and different.' - Aileen Lim, Singapore.

Interested in trying your hand at a 400-year-old art? Japan-trained printmaker Jennifer Lim breaks down this unique tradition into easy steps in a fun workshop designed for beginners. Learn the traditional techniques and modern application of this fascinating craft.

Enjoy printing multiple colours and experience the translucent and gentle nature of Japanese woodblock printing. Gain satisfaction in carving your own block and print it together with specially pre-carved blocks to create a unique myriad of colour and design. Design your own image or use some supplied Peranakan inspired images!

Participants will learn image transfer, block carving, paper preparation and proofing. Water-based and non-toxic, Japanese woodblock printing is an exciting way to gain an insight into traditional Ukiyoe prints.

No experience is necessary and all tools and materials are provided. Participant numbers are kept small to ensure lots of teacher attention. Take home a carved block to display and an edition of prints to impress your friends!
