Translators Lab (Tamil-to-English online)
Want to learn how to translate like a professional literary translator? Join the Translators Lab, an innovative online translation course that allows you to work on your translation at a time that suits you!
Organised by The Select Centre in partnership with Writers’ Centre Norwich, the Translators Lab provides a specially developed online learning environment using course materials designed by your tutor. You will benefit from individual feedback on your translation from your tutor. This bespoke criticism will aid your progression as a translator, Whether you are tackling literary translation for the first time, or you have already started but want extra guidance, this online course is for you.

About the Lab
Through the course, participants will learn about the essentials of literary translation; how to examine a piece of literary work from a linguistic, cultural, historical and creative perspective; how to apply the tools of creative writing and editing in literary translation; and best practices in the translation industry.
Our Tamil-to-English translation workshop tutors are:
• Tamil to English, led by Lakshmi Holmstrom and Subashree Krishnaswamy
They will be working with the participants to translate the works of Singapore writer KTM Iqbal (his poems in Tamil) and Indian writer Dilip Kumar. The workshop has limited spaces, so register now!
