USNC for UN Women Utah Chapter presents a Film Screening of "The Price of Honor", a documentary that spotlights the world of honor killings with special guest speaker, Amy Logan, the film's consulting producer.


Screening to be held on the University of Utah campus in the Hinckley Caucus Room #255 in Orson Spencer Hall.

The US National Committee for UN Women Utah Chapter presents the Utah premiere of the award-winning documentary, "The Price of Honor", about the 2008 “ honor killings of American teen sisters Amina and Sarah Said by their father Yaser Said, who has been at large ever since. Following the films world premiere in 2014, the FBI put Yaser on the Top 10 Most Wanted List after seven years of no developments in the case. The film was shown in the US Capitol in June by three congresswomen and the Justice Department, who released their first-ever study on honor violence in America.



After the Utah screening, the films consulting producer, author and activist against honor violence Amy Logan will join us for a Q&A with the audience and will sign copies of her critically acclaimed novel, "The Seven Perfumes of Sacrifice, about the origins of honor killing which she researched for a decade.
