Three years ago Peatix sprang to life in Tokyo, Japan, the creation of from Amazon. With the convictions that ticket-buyers shouldn’t be charged ticket fees, and that a better job could be done empowering event organizers, the founders hoped we might spend a little less time online and a little more time getting to know each other.
Today Peatix has served over 50,000 very happy events, from those teaching , to others staging , , or . And like ramen and pocky before us, Peatix is now available all over Asia, North America and Europe.
The Invention of no Service Fees
Peatix has no service fees for its tickets. “Madness,” you might say. “Sheer fiscal impossibility,” you might go on to say. Almost every other ticketing company in existence will charge a service fee of at least a few percentage points. Peatix shuns this practice, drawing on a business model that is not built on ticket fees, but on helping event organizers grow their top line revenue and host robustly attended, smoothly executed events.
